This victory broke G2s longstanding 0-9 losing streak against NaVi, a team led by Aleksi “?Aleksib?” Virolainen, and earned G2 their second trophy of the year.
G2’s lineup, featuring Janusz “?Snax?” Pogorzelski and Mario “?malbsMd?” Samayoa, finally came together to lift their first trophy with these players.
It marked an important moment for Snax, who hadnt won a major LAN event since ESL One New York in 2018, and for malbsMd, who became the first Guatemalan player ever to win a Counter-Strike trophy.

— BLAST Premier (@BLASTPremier) September 29, 2024
G2s victory comes after a successful year, which also saw them win IEM Dallas with Jake “?Stewie2K?” Yip standing in during an inspiring Cinderella run.
NaVi had held a dominant 9-0 record over G2 since going international in July 2023, including a group-stage victory over G2 in the Fall Final.
However, as G2s Nemanja “?huNter-?” Kova? famously said after lifting the trophy, Nobody beats G2 10 times in a row.
The grand final saw G2 perform at their peak, with standout performances across the board.
Ilya “?m0NESY?” Osipov was instrumental, delivering a 1.42 series rating and clutching six rounds across the first three maps.
In stark contrast, NaVis Ihor “?w0nderful?” Zhdanov struggled, ending with a 0.87 rating, a performance that hindered NaVi’s efforts.
The first map, Ancient, saw G2 take an early lead, with malbsMd delivering a crucial double knife kill and NiKo leading a strong offensive push to close the map 13-9.
NaVi bounced back on Dust2, but G2s resilience, particularly through m0NESY and malbsMds multi-kill performances, helped them secure another 13-11 victory.
Mirage was a turning point for NaVi, who capitalised on G2s mistakes to win 13-11.
However, G2 regrouped and dominated Inferno.
malbsMd, m0NESY, and huNter- led the charge, crushing NaVis defence and closing out the map 13-7, sealing their victory in the series.
m0NESYs brilliant showing throughout the tournament earned him his second MVP award of 2024, making a strong case for Player of the Year.
He ended the event with a +75 kill differential and a 1.39 rating in G2’s map wins.

Snax, whose form and leadership had been questioned, proved his doubters wrong by guiding G2 to a significant victory, while malbsMd’s performance highlighted him as one of the brightest new talents in the CS2 scene.
With this win, G2 now heads into the final stages of the year with momentum, raising expectations as they aim for the coveted Shanghai Major.
Their triumph in the BLAST Premier Fall Final marks them as serious contenders, with m0NESY and NiKo showcasing why they are one of the best duos in the game.
As NaVi reflects on a hard-fought run, fatigue from their deep tournament performances may be catching up to them.
Theyll need time to regroup before the upcoming IEM Rio 2024 and BLAST Premier World Final.
But for now, G2 celebrates a much-deserved victory that has been months in the making.

Despite barely any rest after their last Counter-Strike 2 event, NaVi, led by Aleksi “?Aleksib?” Virolainen, secured a comfortable victory on Anubis and a more competitive win on Ancient.
Justinas “?jL?” Lekavicius shone in a critical 2v4 defence that helped NaVi take the second map, securing their seventh consecutive win and extending their hot streak to a 12-1 record.
Their next challenge will be against G2 Esports, who continued their dominance over FaZe Clan with a 2-1 (13-7, 6-13, 13-9) victory.

After a rough start on Inferno and a strong counter-terrorist half on Mirage, G2 mounted a comeback, helped by clutch performances from Janusz “?Snax?” Pogorzelski and his supporting cast.
FaZe showed flashes of their old form, but were unable to capitalise on key moments, leaving G2 with a much-needed confidence boost.
In other action, Vitality demolished Astralis 2-0 (13-0, 13-4) in their debut with Casper “?cadiaN?” M?ller, allowing just four rounds across two maps.

Astralis, grappling with roster controversies and fan pressure, struggled to find their footing, while Vitality bounced back strong after a disappointing ESL Pro League quarter-final exit.
Lastly, Liquid earned a hard-fought 2-1 (3-13, 13-11, 13-10) win over Spirit to advance to the playoffs.
An incredible game to end the opening day and it's @TeamLiquidCS who come out on top! #BLASTPremier pic.twitter.com/PdVoshy0uB
— BLAST Premier (@BLASTPremier) September 25, 2024
Despite a shaky start on Dust2, Liquid rallied on Nuke, with Mareks “?YEKINDAR?” Ga?inskis and Keith “?NAF?” Markovic delivering clutch performances.
They now face a rematch with Vitality for a spot in the semi-finals.

Natus Vincere are the outright favourites to win BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024, which comes as no surprise after their success at ESL Pro League Season 20. Fatigue could be an issue, however, as NaVi are jumping from one demanding tournament into another with no break in between.
Team Falcons also attended the event in Malta, but they bombed out early after managing a lone victory against ATOX Esports. It was just another on a long list of disappointing tournament placements, following a seventh-eight finish at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #2.
The Falcons are a capable squad, but considering their lacklustre and inconsistent showings this year, it makes more sense to trust Natus Vincere to do what is expected.

FaZe Clan enter the penultimate BLAST Premier tournament of the year following another shocking performance in a big event. They finished ESL Pro League Season 20 in 13th-16th place after a 0-2 loss against Complexity in the first round of the playoffs.
G2 Esports produced a better run in Malta, reaching the semifinals but losing a closely contested game against the eventual champions, Natus Vincere. Even though G2 fell short of winning an event yet again, it was another strong showing from the European lineup.
Betting against FaZe Clan is tricky, as you never know when they will find their traction and re-emerge as one of the world’s top teams. However, the top Counter-Strike betting sites are right in pricing G2 Esports as favourites for this match.

Astralis are heavy underdogs for this clash after finishing well back in the pack at both ESL Pro League Season 20 (21st-28th) and Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024 (9th-12th). In their defence, the Danes have produced a few close series against the world’s elite squads, and the recent signing of Casper “cadiaN” M?ller should help with consistency.
Team Vitality looked poised to claim the trophy in Malta, yet their 11-game winning streak — which stretches back to BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 — ended in a 1-2 loss against Eternal Fire. This is far from concerning.
Vitality are the better team, but at this number, you have to trust Astralis to take at least one map — as they did in their most recent head-to-head clash.

In the final fixture of the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 opening stage, Team Liquid will look to continue their upward trend when they take on the ever-deadly Team Spirit.
Both teams recently placed fifth-eighth at ESL Pro League Season 20, yet Team Liquid showed more in Malta. They defeated ENCE, Virtus.pro and Complexity, while they also forced two close series against G2 Esports and Vitality. On the other side, Team Spirit defeated Wildcard, MongolZ, 3DMAX and FURIA Esports, which isn’t the most challenging schedule.
Spirit have shown higher highs this year, but their recent results are hardly inspiring. At best, this should be a 50-50 series, so we will gladly take the outsiders at $2.61.
The League of Legends World Championship will kick off on Wednesday, September 25, with 20 of the world’s best teams taking their place in the season-ending tournament.
Meanwhile, the penultimate event of the Counter-Strike 2 BLAST Premier Series will also begin this week, with the Fall Final being held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from September 25-29.
The LoL World Championship will be split into three distinct stages: play-in (September 25-29), Swiss (October 3-7 & 10-13), and knockout (October 17-20, 26-27 & November 2).
With the best 12 teams from the top regions advancing to the Swiss stage following their summer split, the remaining eight squads will compete for the final four spots at the main event through the play-in stage.
GG Bet have marked Gen.G and Bilibili Gaming as the $3.75 equal favourites in the “outright winner” market for LoL Worlds 2024.
Following the top two, Hanwha Life Esports ($4.50), Top Esports ($7.00), T1 ($7.00), and LNG Esports ($9.00) are also kept safe in betting.

The BLAST Premier Fall Final will represent the final chance for teams to qualify for the 2024 World Final in Singapore, with Astralis, Team Liquid and Team Falcons hoping to secure a spot in the US$1 million event.
The other five teams, Team Spirit, Team Vitality, G2 Esports, Natus Vincere and FaZe Clan, have already booked their place in the World Final through Big Event wins and their positions on the BLAST Premier World Leaderboard.
Esports betting sites have Natus Vincere marked as the $3.50 favourite in the “outright winner” market, ahead of Team Vitality ($4.00) and Team Spirit ($5.50).

Both teams overcame significant challenges to earn their places, defeating OG and Virtus.pro, respectively.
FaZe Clan, despite recent struggles and early exits in other tournaments, managed to regain form in the Showdown.
After a shaky start that saw them drop a map to paiN Gaming, FaZe bounced back with a convincing series win over the Brazilians and carried that momentum into a decisive victory against OG.
FaZe set the pace early in their match against OG, dominating with a 9-3 half on Dust2 and ultimately winning the map 13-8.
On Ancient, FaZe maintained their edge, securing another 13-8 win to advance to the Fall Final.
The resurgence of key players like Robin “ropz” Kool and Helvijs “broky” Saukants was crucial to FaZe’s success.
Both players, who had been struggling in recent events, delivered strong performances, helping their team secure a spot in one of the biggest Counter-Strike 2 events of 2024.
While questions remain about FaZe’s consistency, their qualification for the Fall Final is a significant step forward.

Team Falcons also faced a challenging path to the BLAST Premier Fall Final but they rose to the occasion.
After an opening win against M80, Falcons had to overcome two of the highest-ranked teams in the tournament, Complexity and Virtus.pro.
Led by Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer and bolstered by the experience of players like Emil “Magisk” Reif, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, and the standout performer Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia, Falcons secured their place in the Fall Final.
Falcons match against Virtus.pro was particularly one-sided.
On their pick of Vertigo, Falcons dominated the first half, leading 10-2 before eventually closing out the map 13-10, thanks in part to a clutch 1v4 from SunPayus.
The second map, Mirage, saw Falcons once again take control with a 9-3 half, eventually winning 13-6 to complete their sweep.
This tournament marked a much-needed return to form for Falcons, who had struggled in recent months.
SunPayus, who had openly discussed his struggles throughout 2024, showed significant improvement, while Snappi found his fragging ability just in time for the showdown.
With three Danish players on the roster, Falcons will be eager to perform well on home soil in Copenhagen.
As both FaZe Clan and Team Falcons head to the Fall Final, they join a lineup of the worlds best teams, ready to compete for glory in one of the most anticipated events of the year.

This event, supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and organised in partnership with AEG Presents Asia, represents the first BLAST-branded tournament in South-east Asia and the largest Counter-Strike competition ever held in Singapore.
James Woollard, Director of Market Development at BLAST, expressed his excitement about bringing these prestigious tournaments to Singapore, highlighting the city’s growing importance as an esports hub in South-east Asia.
He emphasised that over the next 18 months, Singapore will become the premier destination for esports in the region, promising unforgettable experiences for fans and significant contributions to the local esports ecosystem.
Singapores emergence as a major esports destination is further underscored by the regions significant role in the global esports market, with the Asia-Pacific region accounting for more than half of global esports views and an estimated market value of $1.6 billion.
Following the World Final in 2024, Singapore will continue its esports journey by hosting the BLAST Dota Slam in 2025, further solidifying its position as a world-class esports destination.
This continued investment in esports events is poised to attract global talent, foster local growth, and elevate Singapores status on the global esports map.

BIG and GamerLegion last met during Thunderpick World Championship 2024: European Series #1 in April, when BIG won in two maps. But that was before roster changes on both sides, so that result should not hold much weight.
According to the Counter-Strike betting sites, this is BIG’s game to lose, but neither squad has posted great results of late. BIG exited Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024 with a 1-2 record and two losses against SAW and Team Falcons.
In contrast, GamerLegion’s last significant competitive endeavour ended with a last-place finish at BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024. Since then, they have picked up a few wins, albeit mainly against second-division squads such as Zero Tenacity, SINNERS Esports, and 1win.
That would indicate Erik “ztr” Gustafsson and co. are in good form, but since they have not beaten any good teams lately, we should give this game to BIG.

Cloud9 have not achieved much since reaching the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 playoffs in March. They did enough to finish top two at Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024: European Open Qualifier #2 last weekend, but that came after exiting the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #2: European Qualifier in fifth-eighth place earlier this month.
PaiN Gaming have clawed their way to No.16 in the world standings by finishing top eight at IEM Cologne 2024 last week. The Brazilians have looked competitive at the top level for a while, and even though they’ve not beaten any elite teams, that doesn’t mean they will struggle on Friday.
Cloud9’s recent form makes it fair to question whether they should be considered a good team. And while they have enough talent to do better, we must first see it to believe it.

Team Falcons have the potential to do well in this tournament. But even five months after finalising their roster with Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, they are not in the spot everyone expected them to be.
They have had a couple of solid showings, most recently with a grand final appearance at ESL Challenger at DreamHack Summer 2024. Still, the Falcons also placed 9th-12th at the Fall Groups and Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024, although most of their struggles have come against the world’s elite Counter-Strike teams.
M80 replaced NRG for BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024 and seem to be in solid form, yet all of their success this season has come in lesser events. So, while M80 have been winning games, they are not that great when playing at such a high level.

Complexity have a realistic chance to finish top of their BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024 group; however, this will not be clear until the next round, when the North American squad will likely face off against Team Falcons.
The expectations on Metizport are far lower. As the world’s No.90 squad, the Swedes have not once this year appeared in a tournament of this scale, while they recently replaced Jack “Jackinho” Str?m Mattsson with Lucas “L00m1” Haukland.
Complexity are not known for their consistency, but they have posted commendable results over the last three weeks, which makes it hard to question top Counter-Strike betting sites and their odds for this match.

Priced at $1.16, Virtus.pro are odds-on to defeat Zero Tenacity on Thursday. Even though the Russians are on a five-game losing streak, those results came against stronger teams such as Team Liquid, G2 Esports, BIG, Complexity, and Team Falcons.
Zero Tenacity recently ended their losing streak, picking up a few wins over the last week. However, all of their recent games were against lower-rated teams, so it is unlikely the Balkan lineup will manage to translate that success to this fixture.
Virtus.pro should not be losing games like this, nor should they give away too much. Despite their shaky record, VP are still vastly superior and look poised to come out with a 2-0 sweep.

After a disappointing fifth-sixth finish at Intel Extreme Masters Cologne 2024, FaZe Clan now have a great chance to win their first significant Counter-Strike esports tournament since IEM Chengdu 2024. According to the CS2 betting odds, they are outright favourites to place in the top two at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024.
FaZe’s journey begins with a clash against China’s No.3 team, Rare Atom, who recently booked a spot at IEM Rio 2024 through regional qualifiers and placed top four at XSE Pro League Season 2. Yet despite Rare Atom’s recent success, they are still one of the weaker sides attending BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024.
FaZe should feel slightly fatigued, as they have had quite a packed schedule this month, and it is unlikely they will have put much preparation into this series. Still, Finn “karrigan” Andersen and co. are 6-2 as betting favourites since the start of the month and should not struggle against the world’s No.81-ranked team.

HEROIC and OG are still without a tournament title this year, yet there is a significant difference in the tiers of competitions they have attended over the last seven months. While HEROIC have played in eight consecutive S-Tier events leading into BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024, OG competed at the top level just twice this year — most recently at the CCT Season 1 Global Finals in May.
OG have recently found some traction, winning five consecutive series at Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024: European Open Qualifier #1, yet those came against K27, ENJOY, ARCRED, PARIVISION, and B8, and not one of those displays was very convincing. HEROIC are 4-6 from their last 10 outings, albeit against much more formidable opponents.
HEROIC are rightly priced as favourites, yet they have been dropping series against weaker sides, so there is a world where OG catch them sleeping. An upset seems unlikely; however, at $1.76 with top Counter-Strike betting sites, OG are a solid pick to take a map.

AMKAL ESPORTS enter BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024 with only four active players, having recently parted ways with Daniil “Sdaim” Tupov. This is not an optimal situation, but they might have found a replacement in Emil “nota” Moskvitin, who played for the Russian squad in their most recent series against Young Ninjas.
Ninjas in Pyjamas have a stable roster but no notable results to show for it. They are 3-2 from their last five series, which includes a questionable overtime win against FAVBET Team and a 7-13 loss against LEON Esports.
On paper, Ninjas in Pyjamas are the far superior team. Still, their results over the last few weeks inspire little confidence, making AMKAL ESPORTS an inviting outsider pick to at least leave a dent in NiP’s armour.

FaZe Clan are the No.6 Counter-Strike team in the world and enter this tournament as outright favourites to win Group C. However, they have played just two games since the summer break and did not look great in either, beating FlyQuest but losing to Natus Vincere.
Cloud9 announced roster changes at the start of July, adding Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko, Kaisar “ICY” Faiznurov, and Timofey “interz” Yakushin to form a lineup that should be competitive at the highest level. However, we have yet to see the new-look roster play, as Cloud9’s last official match happened at the end of April.
Rust will play a factor in this series, and while FaZe Clan should win, Cloud9 have enough raw talent to push Intel Extreme Masters Chengdu 2024 champions to their limit.

G2 Esports’ new project with Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski and Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa managed to place second at the Esports World Cup 2024 in their official debut. But perhaps G2’s run in Saudi Arabia worked out a bit too well and it could be attributed to a honeymoon phase.
Ninjas in Pyjamas are still looking for their stride, having now failed to claim a trophy in 10 consecutive tournaments. Even more concerning is their fifth-eighth finish at RES European Series #6 just over a week ago.
It is fair to feel dubious about G2 Esports’ ceiling, but it’s hard to justify taking Ninjas in Pyjamas’ side in this contest, even at the offered betting odds.

Virtus.pro acquired a new coach, Andrey “XomA” Mironenko, from 9Pandas in June and have since appeared in one tournament, reaching the semifinals of the Esports World Cup. It was a promising display and a continuation of VP’s solid run at BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 last month.
Team Liquid, like most top-tier teams, decided to make some roster changes this month, adding Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak, Justin “jks” Savage, and ex-Apeks coach Torbj?rn “mithR” Nyborg to the lineup. These additions should make Liquid considerably stronger if the new members gel well, yet there is no guarantee that will happen.
Virtus.pro posted a solid run earlier this month, but it is hard to make any firm conclusions based on just three games played. They should still win, but it will not be an easy match.
