DreamHack DreamLeague Season 25
Season 25 of the DreamHack DreamLeague kicked off on February 16, with 16 of the best Dota 2 teams competing in the two-week event in Europe.
Group Stage 1 will run until Wednesday before Group Stage 2 kicks off on Friday, with the top eight teams from the opening stage set to compete for four playoff spots.

VCT Masters Bangkok
The first international VALORANT event of the 2025 season will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from February 20-March 2, with the top eight squads competing in the US$500,000 tournament.
With two representatives from each of the four regional leagues taking their place at the event, competition is expected to be compelling as teams will face each other from different regions for the first time.

The former League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) champion, who retired twice in 2023, has assembled a roster of well-known players and streamers to compete in the NACL open qualifiers on March 1.
The team features familiar faces from Doublelift’s competitive past, including former TSM teammates Mingyi ‘Spica’ Lu and Vincent ‘Biofrost’ Wang, along with former Team Liquid teammate Eugene ‘Pobelter’ Park.
Popular League streamer Ashkan ‘TF Blade’ Homayouni rounds out the roster.
During a recent stream, Doublelift shared his excitement for the new squad and explained why he chose TF Blade.
He highlighted the streamer’s mechanical skill, large fanbase, and polarising persona as key factors that would bring more attention to their matches.
Despite forming a team capable of competing for an League of Legends Championship of the Americas (LTA) spot, Doublelift made it clear that his primary goal is content creation rather than returning to professional play.
“I have no interest in living the lifestyle of a pro player. Leena (my partner) and I are planning to get married and start a family,” he said.
“I want to enjoy my hobbies and interests outside of League of Legends.”

If the team were to qualify for the LTA, Doublelift suggested he would likely step down rather than compete full-time.
The team will not have a dedicated coach but plans to invite guest coaches periodically, including notable figures like William ‘Meteos’ Hartman and Nick ‘LS’ De Cesare.
In addition to competing, Doublelift plans to stream all of their NACL Open Qualifier scrims live, starting on February 13 against Supernova.
This transparent approach, inspired by the European team Los Ratones, aims to engage fans and showcase their progress.
The NACL Open Qualifier will feature a double-elimination bracket with 64 teams, with the top three teams advancing to the NACL.
Success in the NACL would then provide an opportunity to compete in the Tier-1 Promotion Tournament for a chance to enter the LTA.

Fans can tune in to watch the action beginning March 1 and follow the team’s journey through live scrims starting February 13.

Team Liquid and 100 Thieves took care of business in the first round of the LTA North 2025 Split 1, with 2-0 sweeps of Dignitas and Disguised, respectively. After an easy start to the year, their real test begins on Sunday.
100 Thieves have kept most of their 2024 roster intact and replaced just their ADC with Victor “FBI” Huang, who performed well in his second debut on Sunday. However, even though FBI has quickly adjusted to a new life, 100 Thieves still look a bit too weak to be considered a threat to Team Liquid.
Team Liquid decided to run it back from 2024, which was an incredible season for them, and the added continuity only makes them that much scarier. Typically, you would consider feisty underdogs early in the season, but 100 Thieves were no match for Liquid in 2024, nor did they impress against Disguised.

FlyQuest, like their main rivals from 2024, decided to keep their roster intact for the 2025 LoL esports season and crushed Shopify Rebellion in the opening round of the split. It was a dominant display, but FlyQuest should come back down a bit when faced with a tougher opponent.
Cloud9 freshened up their lineup with a few carryovers and two exciting signings, mid laner Lee “Loki” Sang-min from Hanwha Life Esports Challengers and Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen, who returns to Cloud9 after a short stay with Dignitas.
Cloud9 performed well against LYON in the first round of the split, and even though they were not as dominant as anticipated, there are not many negatives to take from that game.
FlyQuest look like the most likely victors, but seeing the top LoL betting sites have them priced at $1.26 so early in the season and against a capable team is a bit too low. Cloud9 should be good for one map.

Each of the four major regions (China, Americas, Europe & Pacific) for the VALORANT Champions Tour Kickoff events will continue during the week, with matches scheduled to be played on each day.

The third global LoL esports event was first mentioned in June as a response to the demands from the fans for another international competition.
However, while First Stand will deliver on that front, the new addition to the LoL esports calendar will be smaller than the Mid-Season Invitational and the World Championship.

Designed to test innovations and reignite regional rivalries, First Stand will be an early-season event set to take place following the conclusion of Split 1.
Unlike other international LoL esports events, First Stand is billed as an opening international clash featuring teams from five regions, each sending one representative to South Korea.

First Stand will welcome just the regional champions of the first split – winners of the LCK Cup, LPL Split 1, LEC Winter 2025, LTA Cross-Conference, and LCP Split 1.
Every participating team will play each other at least once, and every series will be best-of.
The group stage will use a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to single-elimination playoffs.
Another significant change coming in 2025 and to First Stand is the introduction of the Fearless Draft, which will be implemented across all regions for Split 1.
With Fearless Draft, once a champion is selected, it cannot be picked again by either of the two teams for the remainder of the series.
The new format forces teams to be more strategic with their drafting, while players will have to expand their champion pool, adding a new layer of excitement in LoL esports.
The launch of the First Stand tournament marks a step towards making international events more accessible to minor regions, as both LTA and LCP are getting a guaranteed spot in the event.

However, the introduction of the new Americas and Asia-Pacific leagues already took the first step towards eliminating the major-minor LoL esports region divide which has been in place until now.
First Stand will take place from March 10-25 at LoL Park in Seoul, Korea.
