In a hard-fought decider for third place, Astralis faced off against a plucky FaZe Clan in a series that saw momentum swing like a pendulum.
The opening map on Mirage stretched into a gruelling five overtimes, with FaZe eventually edging out a 28–24 win despite Astralis holding a 12–4 lead.

Astralis locked in their playoff berth on the final day with a convincing 2-0 victory over BIG, winning Ancient 13-7 and Inferno 13-8.
The German Counter-Strike side started strong on their own map pick, storming to a 5-0 lead before the Danish squad took complete control, rattling off 12 straight rounds to secure map point.
Inferno followed a similar trajectory, with Astralis racing to an 8-1 lead on the terrorist side before closing the half 8-4.

Lotan “Spinx” Giladi, one of MOUZ’s newest additions, has quickly proven his worth, helping stabilise the team in critical moments.
While the squad has struggled with consistency, squandering big leads against FaZe Clan and Team Falcons, their ability to bounce back has been crucial.

DreamHack DreamLeague Season 25

VCT Masters Bangkok
The first international VALORANT event of the 2025 season will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from February 20-March 2, with the top eight squads competing in the US$500,000 tournament.

Although they are ranked eighth in the world, MOUZ produced two dismal displays at IEM Katowice, losing 0-2 to both Team Liquid and GamerLegion en route to a 13th-16th finish.
BIG didn’t perform much better; however, they managed to steal a map off FaZe Clan in their opening clash before eventually being eliminated in 13th-16th place in Stage 1.
Both teams have new pieces that are expected to take time to integrate into their squads, so it’s hard to gauge expectations. A three-map series looks to be on the cards here.

Virtus.pro were one of the surprises to come out of IEM Katowice following their fifth-eighth finish in Poland. Under the new leadership of Denis “electroNic” Sharipov, VP dominated G2 Esports and edged past Eternal Fire before falling to Team Vitality and Team Spirit.
The 9th-13th finish at IEM Katowice may read as an average result for 3DMAX; however, they should be given more credit, as they pushed both Team Vitality and Eternal Fire to overtime before eventually losing to both squads.
There is no doubt that this series could be a three-map thriller, but if one team has the more potent squad, it is Virtus.pro.

FlyQuest are another team that have struggled early in 2025, losing three of their first four series, culminating in a last-place finish in Stage 1 of IEM Katowice.
Given the break between Katowice and Cluj-Napoca, it is expected that FlyQuest’s team chemistry will have improved with more practice, but not enough to give Team Falcons any trouble.

Things are starting to click for the world No.6, and as they enter this tournament as one of the highest-ranked teams, expect FaZe to be a major player and kick off their campaign with a strong win against SAW.
SAW have only managed one series win from their first six, which is a worrying sign for a roster that was ranked ninth in the world back in September.
With one squad improving with every match and another losing momentum, FaZe Clan look like a clear pick.

Six Invitational 2025
Following the completion of the upper bracket quarterfinals on Sunday, the first three rounds of the lower bracket will take place on Monday and Tuesday before a break.
16 squads will take their place in the playoffs, with Team BDS, Spacestation Gaming, RazaH Company Academy and FURIA Esports competing for two upper bracket final spots.
The grand final of the Six Invitational will be held on Sunday, February 6, when the top two teams will clash in a best-of-five series for the US$1,000,000 winners cheque.

LCK Cup
The inaugural edition of the LCK Cup playoffs will start on Wednesday, February 12, with the opening rounds scheduled for the following five days.
Gen.G Esports, Dplus KIA, KT Rolster, Nongshim RedForce, T1 and Hanwha Life Esports will compete in the playoffs, with each of them aiming to make the grand final on Sunday, February 23.

The participating teams were selected based on their VRS as of January 6, 2025, paving the way for new contenders to take the spotlight.
Among the highest-ranked teams competing are The MongolZ, who claimed victory at the 2024 Thunderpick World Championship, and FaZe Clan, a perennial powerhouse in Counter-Strike.
MOUZ also enters the fray, marking their first appearance since signing Lotan ‘Spinx’ Giladi.
The tournament will feature a diverse roster of 16 teams, including three from Brazil—FURIA Esports, paiN Gaming, and MIBR—as well as North American representatives Complexity and Wildcard.
The lineup is rounded out by Astralis, Virtus.pro, 3DMAX, BIG, SAW, Australia’s FlyQuest, Eternal Fire, and Team Falcons, all eager to capitalise on the opportunity presented by the absence of several top-tier competitors.
The group stage will be hosted at the PGL Studio in Bucharest from February 14 to 20, before moving to the BT Arena in Cluj-Napoca for the playoffs on February 21 to 23.
For teams like The MongolZ and Eternal Fire, this tournament represents a chance to claim a major Tier 1 title, breaking through the barriers often posed by the giants of the competitive scene.
